I was blessed enough to be a part of Johnson’s Baby’s #MomsRepresent campaign this year. The aim of their campaign is to highlight the unique experiences of being mothers and to let the people know that motherhood is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. The campaign also puts into spotlight the mothers whose stories are not that well-represented in the media.
My motherhood story is ‘The Survivor Mom’. Two years before I had my youngest daughter, I lost my youngest son merely days before he was scheduled to be born. It was a truly devastating moment for me as we already had the baby stuff ready for him at home, but then, the unexpected happened. Fast forward two years, I gave birth to a healthy baby and I could not be more happier. It is definitely a miracle to be cherished and I am willing to sacrifice everything just so I could rear my kids in the best way I could. Learn more about my story below:
Ok, now on to how we got here. I received a message from Johnson’s Baby as they selected my story and they want to have my story featured on their #MomsRepresent campaign. I signed documents and stuff, and then, I had to secure a physical fitness assessment for my youngest daughter in accordance to the DOLE Working Child permit requirements. We were given the permit subsequently and we were asked to go to DPIXL Studio in Makati for interview, photo, and video shoot. Minors are only allowed to ‘work’ 4 hours a day so we were held there for not more than four hours.

The studio looks really awesome and spacious! And the staff were so accommodating. That must be how actors feel like :D. There was food provided for us at the venue though we were not allowed to eat inside the shooting area. My top and pants were provided by them. There was a short interview done and afterwards, we were on the set for the photo shoot. They had teddy bears to entertain the kids and make them look towards the camera. My daughter definitely loved that cute bear. It was surreal being on set and having professional people take your photos, wipe any sweat off your face, and even arrange any strands of hair blocking the face!

I am so honored to be a part of Johnson’s Baby’s #MomsRepresent campaign because I get to represent all those mothers who have lost their kids and those who are striving hard to keep their heads up high even after a tragedy.
Motherhood is a 24/7 job and as cliche as it may sound, it is the reality.
This is a great moment to appreciate all the moms in your life. 🙂
